I opted for the Nightmare + Trapper’s combo, but feel free to experiment for yourself. Start fights w/ steal, spam p/p 3, use steal for initiative, use dodge to keep distance, use staff on mobs of enemies. Firebrand. Parasitic Contagion should be enough to keep you alive. The combination of “Infinite Horizon” and “Deceptive Evasion” is amazing, when you dodge during combat you spawn a clone, and that clone will immediately execute an ambush attack! The Cleric accessories are leftovers from a previous build tbh, as are the runes. Then of course you have Staff 4 for AoE fear. Berserker: Top trait line is for damage, bottom is for sustain. Change Dragonhunter from 1-2-3 to 1-1-3. Weaver [Sword/Dagger] (Curennos.9307/AlistoFrent). you can also camp LB for open world bosses and go afk. Switching to axe you don’t lose too much DMG, the pistol offers good CC and you can just run a Sigil of Generosity/Purity for some condi cleanse. Really think this is the most versatile OW mirage build you can think of, it has good damage, tons of evade frames and surprisingly good cleave. The armor is sinister, since in shorter fights sinister is better, while in longer ones with Master of Misdirection giving you 33%, you will cap out confusion duration with just 3 boons on you. I also have one strength trait lets me throw weakness on enemies I hit with CC which then augments my defense trait that makes me do 7% increased damage against weakened enemies. Having a free condition cleanse on a 5s cooldown is great. Meteor Shower. Then have I got a build for you! Life Force generation is kind of annoying. Even against single mobs (say a Veteran), it’s surprisingly wimpy feeling. Assassin’s gear is technically better for open world content if you’ve got it, but not worth the trouble if you don’t. Wild Blow I will sometimes swap out for a physical skill like Bull’s Rush. Sword/Sword – Greatsword – Dueling 131 / Domination 221/ Mirage 212 and False oasis, Sand through glass, Mirage advance (or signet of domination for stun), Signet of inspiration and Jaunt. If you are having trouble staying alive, just switch your axe with a shield or gear more towards marauder. Often dubbed as the king of the open world, the Necromancer can absorb as much damage as it can deal with essentially… Power Reaper. If it’s a problem for you, you can pack Shake it Off or Berserker Stance. Combined with Sun and Moon Style, this makes Axe/Dagger provide plenty of health sustain. This is equivalent to 400 health per second, as Might Makes Right looks at how many stacks are being applied. As their prowess with light has increased, they are able to physically manifest their virtues into the world. Guardian is our favorite class. Has great synergy with Rapid Fire and Barrage on crowds of mobs. for fun you can LB 4 around other players. These damage strikes are easily added to weapon and utility skill abilities, because every Shade ability is instant cast. Power Soulbeast can support the Druid by bringing a Spirit to free up a utility slot. Power Soulbeast is bursty power build that also carries a fair amount of CC. For high fractals or Raid I still use Chrono but this one is great to play. The required range threshold of this build for maximum damage potential is 900 with the utility skills, but using staff skills from 1200 range supplies the bulk of your damage. This Daredevil build is a other damage variant of the Thief with around 35.1k DPS on small hitboxes. For comboing – You have a lot of fields and finisher. This build offers high kiting power, really high boon uptime (20-25 stacks of might, perma fury, high quickness uptime, on-demand protection), great survivability (heal toolbelt’s water field can be used with hammer 3 then flamethrower 2 for 3 water combo finishers, supply drop summons a heal turret + its toolbelt summons loads of medpacks), effective against projectiles because of Elixir U’s toolbelt, permanent stability with extra stability on demand from Elixir B’s toolbelt, great AoE as the flamethrower auto attack is a fairly big cone and hits 5 targets. All on a 25-second cooldown. Perma fury and nearly ~90% crit chance, change food to fried dumplings for 25x might. Sigil of Severance is absurd! Fire 2 is a leap finisher, Fire 3 and 5 are just straight up damage (3 > 5 for condi), fire 4 for AoE and a fire field. You can use any condi set as far as I know, but I had my dungeon armor on so eh, why not? Unfortunately, ele lacks good low cooldown utilities. And I also think you can use this build in Open World PvE. Unholy Sanctuary makes it that whenever you use Sand Shroud you begin healing, which is nice. Berserker gear (one or two Marauder if needed and some precise infusions). If things get tough try to incorporate Jaunt and mirrors into the combo, for example, after the first combo and before shattering your clones in the second combo, you can use False Oasis or Crystal Sands to spawn a mirror, jump into it with Jaunt (and proccing Mirage Cloak and therefor Infinite Horizon and then shatter. Water 3 heals you and allies + regen, though the heal is slightly delayed. Scourge [Dagger/Warhorn][Axe/Focus] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). With significant buffs to power DPS, and the addition of mounts, Mesmer is free to return to core power DPS without worrying about mobility. Today we cover the power variant of the Guardian, do we take a look at the Dragon Hunter. Pretty nice burst for condi, a lot of cleave, with the tiny pink axes from your clones flying everywhere, and its sustain isn’t as bad as I thought. Discretize is a high-end Guild Wars 2 fractal guild. Be aware of its fragility and use its extreme damage output aggressively, especially against dangerous ranged enemies. Staff and Hammer. Pretty great for killing masses of mobs. Return to Fire frequently to cast this. Pyroclastic Blast, Fire/Earth dual skill. Worth noting, Scourge condition duration is much shorter than Reaper, so don’t get greedy and try to stack too many. The choice to emphasize two Physical skills was because this build lacks reliable CC otherwise, and being fully melee, it appreciates being able to interrupt and knock down dangerous enemies. So, this was the biggest surprise for me in PoF. This build can take Dagger for better sustained DPS or Sword for slightly better burst DPS. I rotate between the F2 and F1 shatters, but of course you can use F3 for CC when needed. If like to add here that dragon hunter is the most beginner friendly, core guard is in between, firebrand is the most complex. Spellbreaker [Hammer][Greatsword] (deegthoughts). Use axe for ranged and GS for fun. Spellbreaker [Dagger/Dagger][Axe/Shield] (Ichi_sama). Guardian. It is amazing to run around open world, Marking everything one at a time, and blasting it to pieces with Quickness-enhanced bullets. Herald [Hammer][Sword/Shield] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). Possibly the weakest option out of any Elementalist weapon. Axes are also a lark, and of course you can go Mace/Shield for raid practice, or Sword/Warhorn if you absolutely must get from point A to point B. For higher Fractals you can use thisbuild. It’s not as bombastic as Berserker, but it’s pretty fun and you can pump out a huge hurt by Raptor Leaping into groups to glom them up and chaining Burst > Full Counter > Burst > Swap > Burst. Radiant Dragonhunter is a versatile power build which performs well in most areas of open world. In hindsight I probably should have used it on the [Eater of Souls] story fight, but outside of such niche fights boon strip is so much hot air. Great damage great support great sustain. You build up Life Force from kills and abilities, like core Necromancer and Reaper, but you spend it on Shade skills instead of using it as an alternate health bar. Go with Axe Mastery for your Grandmaster if you’re using an Axe, otherwise Burst Mastery tends to beat Heightened Focus due to HF’s 15 second internal cooldown. Skills: I never swap out Blood Reckoning, Signet of Fury, or Headbutt. Guardian Dragonhunter Best Build Pve Pvp Wvw 2020 Guild. Holosmith [Sword/Shield] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). I considered runes of perplexity, but while in long fights confusion makes up to 50% of your damage, in shorter ones torment takes over, so I stuck with zerker runes. This build has a rather unique playstyle. Here is my “I’LL CUT YOUR BOONS BITCH AND ALSO YOU” Spellbreaker build. Operation is simple: mark a target for lots of boons, use the stolen skill, Pistol Whip/Unload, rinse & repeat. Get 100% burn duration for free with Balth runes, sigil of smouldering, radiant fire trait, and meat chili. Gives 100% crit in shroud, 25x might, fast life force. This combo spawns 3 clones in just 1 second, those 3 clones would then do their ambush skill since you just dodged. Deadeye [Pistol/Pistol][Sword/Pistol] (Boelthor). Fight in shroud as much as possible, use axe 2, wh 5, GS 3, and heal to build lifeforce quickly, 2x utility to add what you need: stun break or shadow beast for more LF. Water 2 is extremely strong – when you need to retreat, use it and sit in the water field for several seconds, either blasting it or just waiting/doing other stuff. This build hasn’t changed much in quite a long time, and I pass it forward yet again. Easy to play with great cleave and damage, this build represents the faceroll easymode aspect of the Warrior class in open world. Boss rotations are still being developed, and you will be able to use a raid rotation when it is released. Spellbreaker [Axe/Dagger][Dagger/Axe] (Boelthor). Utility skills are up to you, though I strongly suggest the signets. Sword/Pistol on swap gives you cleave and safety, and it is equally fun to run around spamming Quickness-enhanced Pistol Whips. Good luck! I run full Berserker's with GS and Sc/F. Greatsword/X: You will be using your Greatsword 90% of the time. Dragonhunter is good and easy to play build for fractals. But when your autos are critting for 4k at 1200 range in an AoE, who needs defense? It will require a fast playstyle. Firebrand [Axe/Torch][Scepter/Torch] (Boelthor). I will provide some tips: Do you like Holosmith, but not base Engi? That means I can jump into a group of 5 mobs, taunt them all, and instantly receive 300 power and 300 ferocity for 15 seconds. Spear of Justice’s cooldown is refreshed every time you kill any mob. You have to adjust the way you play, because you lack the second health bar, but you gain significant damage and the best condition cleansing in the game. In shroud combo 5 + 4 for might. Sun and Moon Style provides a steady stream of healing while you crit when wielding Axe/Dagger. With Sword/Sword, again in melee range, cast Illusionary Leap, then Blurred Frenzy simultaneously with Mind Wrack and Mantra of Pain. When you get to a boss, or anything tanky that you want to kill immediately, perform this burst combo: This is almost exactly the same as a raid build. You can also use Epidemic and THEN Shroud 4, so all targets afflicted by epidemic (1200 range) will also be inflicted with fear, and thus an additional 6k damage and in unlikely situations, be able to fear up to 17 targets at once; epidemic (5) + self (3) + 3 shades (9), Soulbeast [Longbow][Greatsword] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). What this build lacks is CC and condi cleanse. 4th: Anything else into a stat of your choice. Though Conjure Fiery Greatsword is strictly better DPS, it would be the only skill that requires short range, so I’ve dropped it in favor of Glyph of Elementals, which is more flexible. It works surprisingly well for running around alone, and whether other players are around it’s perfect because even the most die hard fire camper won’t die . Spellbreaker [Dagger/Dagger][Mace/Shield] (Trumpet_bear). At range, start with Swords and summon a Swordsman; cast Signet of the Ether and summon another Swordsman; then swap to Greatsword and summon a Berserker. Your first utility stunbreaks and evades (and is also a beautiful twirl!). A-Tier - These are the top-rated builds available for solo adventures - they are durable and powerful. DM gives more health and attack to your minions, while taking conditions on you back on the enemy thanks to Necromantic Corruption. The setup is focused on condi damage, but has a decent amount of power as well. The dragonhunter specialization will look to viciously purge the lands of dragons and their ilk, with longbow and traps now at hand. Tried it on TD, got 16k-17k, which in open world with random/non-existent boons is pretty high. Longbow Farmer is a highly specialized build meant to give Guardian a viable way to Tagenemies in events such as Specimen Chamber or the Lake Doric Leather Farm. — Dragonhunter release notes. Try to cast Laser Disk, Blade Burst, Hard Light Arena, and Prime Light Beam while in Photon Forge above 50 Heat, but as early as possible, so that all their pulses occur during Photon Forge. Summary: Lots of might while in fire, good condi damage and not-insignificant power damage, ability to withdraw from a fight at will and either heal and then re-engage or run away. It also procs on weapon swap sigils without having to actually swap weapons.With this build, I have successfully solo’ed a few dungeons, fractals, and open world champions without any help. Hope you’ll like it. Spellbreaker [Axe/Dagger][Greatsword] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). 3rd: At least 350 healing power. The balance changes to Radiance emphasize Retaliation as a very important boon, so an extra utility skill that applies Retaliation is desirable. This build is pretty much full glass. Eruption when in Earth or when swapping out of Earth. Was also really fun! Overview. Power Dragonhunter. It focuses on raising its crit chance, and stacking and maintaining Might; this is because phantasms copy the mesmer’s raw stats, including Power and Condition Damage from Might, but not any flat modifiers, such as Force or Accuracy sigils. Though with that Invocation-setup in the open world, extra procs for Fury work extremely well, even though, of course, Glint was easier, I still stack to 25 might immediately between the fury procs and F2. Daredevil [Pistol/Pistol][Staff] (hiberbeam). Typical play involves throwing Spear of Justice on every mob you fight, using Symbol of Punishment and Orb of Wrath liberally. So for a secondary weapon set you could take weapons that cover these weaknesses. Similar to the build above but focusing on getting clones as fast as possible and shattering every time you have 3 available. It also provides excellent burst damage through the use of precision strike → drop elemental blast → burst of strength → equilibrium legend swap (also triggers hydro sigil damage) → impossible odds → sword auto attack → precision strike → repeat.Playing this build effectively relies heavily on you knowing your skills and traits completely inside and out. Like the Deadeye, you only need one Torch/Sigil of Smoldering. Some people shy away from it because it drops your boons, but you can quickly regain Might and Fury, and it strips off up to 7 conditions before healing. I like the final Renegade pick for being able to continuously keep 10 might ready out of combat since the stacks never drop. Berserker’s Power is still king in the Grandmaster slot. Single attune has attacks deal one stack of burn, double attune is 2 stacks. Don’t even have to kneel. Most of the time, you’ll want to stay merged with a Tiger – or any Ferocious pet of choice – and cast utility and Beast skills to maintain boons. Outrage is hilariously strong for keeping on your feet but unnecessary due to Headbutt, swap to preference. In dragon stand I normally run a ton of active defense. Let’s move on to End Game Builds for the Guardian. This build requires solid muscle memory as many of the skills can be easily cancelled. It’s very similar to the power Rev build used in PVP. It gets better the more targets you cleave, and helps keep the warrior’s massive health pool topped off. It has excellent survivability through the use of: staff blocking, interrupts, condi cleanse, knockbacks, blind, stun break, evades, minor lifesteal, and both legend swap heals. Strength: Forceful Greatsword is a lock, and is maybe the strongest trait in GW2. Use Primordial Stance (second utility R on my build) while single or double attuned to fire for more damage. or Signet of Courageprovide even more support. Spam unload or sword on mooks, mix in mercy for a ton of initiative on bosses, change signets for useful utilities. A typical opening sequence involves casting Moa Stance and Quickening Zephyr, followed by Worldly Impact and “Strength of the Pack!” Do this regardless of which weapon you’re holding; even if you may not hit anything with Worldly Impact while wielding a Longbow, the boons you receive are well worth the cast. It’s not much of a heal but when you gain might on interrupt via the Ruthlessness Sigil, on crit with the auto-chain on dagger, every time you fist-yell, every time you weapon swap, passively when you use your burst on things because of some kind of swole chain thing, every time you eviscerate, when people hit you, because you ate fried food and maybe sometimes just because… it adds up. Fire/Air is a decent damage ability. You start with double Axe 2 and Torch 4, get a third clone with Jaunt and from there start spamming ambushes by rotating between your dodges, Crystal Sands and False Oasis, using Axe 2 of cooldown, Axe 3 to change targets (or for extra DPS) and Torch 4. The build works around longbow's relatively long range and fast, bouncing projectiles. Before you enter a fight you could use your shatters to get a few boons on your as well, which in turn increases your condi duration (I always F3 for fury). Deadeye [Pistol/Pistol][Sword/Pistol] (h4mburgers). Scourge [Staff][Dagger/Warhorn] (The_Pumpking). Magebane Tether ties you to a target you hit with any Burst skill, and pulses 3 Might per second for 8 seconds. This build is crafted to give you some breathing room. The playstyle of the build is straightforward compared to other engineer builds. After you leave Photon Forge, immediately cast Radiant Arc and begin autoattacking. Dragonhunter is a heavy burst damage power DPS that excels in short fights (such as fractals) and raid encounters with short damage windows. Only Shield skills are featured from core Engineer; the rest is Holosmith skills. Scourge [Dagger/Warhorn][Scepter/Torch] (Boelthor). Berserker. Damage – Fire, Earth, and Air (duel fire/air). Sword mainhand has strong CC through it’s ambush skill but of course lacks condi damage, offhand pistol offers good CC through pistol 5, and torch offers condi cleanse on torch 4. It is pretty survivable while dealing a lot of damage. The pistol is for CC if you ever need any. Feel free to swap in a more defensive rune choice if that is your preference, at the loss of ~10% damage. In this guide, we're going to look at all nine Guild Wars 2 classes and the specialization trees that they have at their disposal. Was reeeeeeeally fun in open world, putting 20-ish burns on all mobs with Incendiary Ammo and Photon blitz was absolutely gorgeous, even if they only last for 2 seconds. Basically it’s just great at being alone. Alright, that wraps up my favorite open world PvE builds. They all power the core concepts of this build. In addition, the short range of steal only hasten the Thief's death. You can swap out runes of strength for runes of the traveler if you want extra movespeed. 2nd sigil is your choice. Earth 2 also evades. I usually start in Fire/Earth, then go Air->Earth->Fire->repeat. Using stances for sweet damage ignoring, Strength spec for the might stacks and heal-on-application of might, and Dagger/Shield for CC when needed. The general combo of this build is: staff 2 > jaunt (forward) > dodge. Lightning Surge when in Air or when swapping out of Air. Event builds are builds that focus on AoE damage, sustain, and support. i left the secondary weapon set empty since i basically stay in staff all the time. I was surprised to see controversy surrounding Deadeye’s Rifle; I assume this is because people who are trying it out are accustomed to melee weapons, and notice a DPS loss when switching to Rifle. It has strong CC and good mobility, and provides a good amount of AoE Might and Vulnerability. Utility skills are open for experimentation; the only ones that should be present at all times are Signet of the Ether and Mantra of Pain. From Guild Wars 2 Wiki. Mirage [Axe/Torch][Axe/Pistol] (Andulias). As you can see its still very powerfull even after the balance changes. It’s a very active and fun style of gameplay (mostly because you’ll be weapon swapping alot, dodging alot and repeating that combo over and over) and you’ll easily get to 30 stacks of confusion in a matter of seconds, some bleeds and torment and blindness. Deadeye [Rifle][Sword/Pistol] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). Being ranged you basically trivialize almost any encounter. Discipline: This is mainly for Warrior’s Sprint, Fast Hands, and (surprisingly) Brawler’s Recovery. Since the F1 can hit from both you and the shade, you want to fight inside it when possible. Mirage – Shatterspam [Axe/Torch][Axe/Pistol] (Danashj). With Greatsword, get in melee range, cast Mirror Blade, then Mind Stab simultaneously with Mind Wrack and Mantra of Pain. Ranger is one of the most popular classes in Guild Wars 2, and it’s easy to see why. Power Holosmith. Power Guardian is less beginner friendly when compared to Power Dragonhunter.This is because you are required to have Aegis in order to benefit from the 20% modifier .Knowledge of the encounters is vital to ensure that you maintain Aegis.. X is for the 10%. Best Class for Solo PVE Play Ranger. To get the most out of your damage, you want to always be swapping between assassin stance and dragon stance. As soon as your staff 2 comes off CD you can shatter your old clones and spawn new ones with the same combo, staff 2 > jaunt > dodge and repeat. I tried to like Dagger/Dagger, I really did, it’s just so slow at plowing through groups of enemies, has no sustain outside of the weak-feeling Master perk, and only has the ability to control a single mob at a time.
