Techniques that directly compare the point estimates of correlations with a cutoff (i.e., ρCFA(1), ρDPR(1), and ρCR(1)) have very high false negative rates because an unbiased and normal correlation estimate can be expected to be below the population value (here, 1) exactly half the time.
